BOOM! Studios’ Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Comes To an End This Summer

After an epic eight-year run, BOOM! Studios and Hasbro have announced the end of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with its final issue Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour #1.

Series writer Melissa Flores and Simona Di Gianfelice are wrapping up the run with an epic story that sees the Power Rangers face off against Dark Specter.

“After nearly two years, the Darkest Hour comes to a close. This event has been one of the biggest tasks of my career, but I've enjoyed every single, heart-wrenching minute. Although I put our poor Rangers through the ringer, I hope the ending is as satisfying for the reader as it was for me to write it!" said Flores in a press release provided by BOOM! Studios.

“I’m really excited to tell this incredible adventure together with Melissa. So far she has kept us in suspense and now she's ready to surprise us again! Get ready to dive into this final chapter of Darkest Hour! GO GO!" said artist Simona Di Gianfelice.

When it comes to licensed comics, few have been as consistently good as BOOM! Studios’ Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with it expanding the Power Ranger universe even giving us the evil variant of Tommy, Lord Dakken.

Hasbro recently licensed out Power Rangers to Playmates and it is not immediately clear what the future holds for Power Rangers as a brand.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour #1 hits comic stands and digital storefronts on July 31st.
